God's Grace

Good morning everyone! Wow, it has been a long time since I have posted anything on here. Not that I did not have anything to say...but you know how life can get crazy. I was thinking this morning about God's grace. That worship song from way back that says "Lord, Your grace is still amazing, amazing to me..." rings in my heart today.
I heard a little story about John Newton, the writer of "Amazing Grace", the hymn. He said, regarding the wonders of heaven, that the first wonder would be all of the people that were there that he did not expect to make it there. The second wonder would be all of the people he expected to make it there, but were not there. The third wonder would be the very thought that he, himself, would be there. That is God's grace.
What if we did not have His grace? I certainly could not be a good husband or father, or follower of God, I would not even want to wake up and start a new day. But because of what Jesus did thousands of years ago...I can. His grace comes through for me every day. "Its the gift that keeps on giving"...to use an old cliche'.
How about you? Are you living in His grace today, or trying to make it on your own will. Pulling yourself up by the bootstraps gets real old after a while doesn't it? Jesus said this.."come unto me all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest..." I would encourage everyone to do that today. Life can get weary, and it is real easy to fall into the depths of despair when you are relying on your own substance. Stop that foolishness and run to God, crawl up in His lap and feel the security and comfort that only He can give.
Enjoying Life Today!
Stan
