I saw the Lord complete one of the greatest miracles I have seen in a long time. He created a new family. Most of you may know that Ketrah and I, for the past 3 years, have had custody of 2 children of a relative. It was a tragic situation that plays out all too often in our society. But the Lord laid it on Ketrah's heart to take them in. I reluctantly agreed as I have worked in foster care for the past 7 years and have seen first hand the hurt and results of situations like this.
All along we have been praying for God to have His way and to give these precious children a new beginning. A mom and a dad who would be their "forever family". Almost one year ago in December 08, God began to piece the miracle together. A young couple in Mississippi, through a cousin who attends our church, found out about the children and wanted to meet them.
From the moment they met the kids...it was "love at first sight". They all looked as if they were meant for each other. An immediate bond was formed and the couple began to poor their lives, time and attention into making these kids their own.
Well, its been over 1 year of legal work, back and forth with courts, numerous documents signed and re-signed, plus prayer upon prayer...and yesterday....Nick and Arianna legally were identified and sealed to their forever family!
It was the sweetest thing I have ever been apart of...besides the birth of my own children. There wasn't a dry eye in the court room...the attorney, the judge, and all of us were in tears at what God just completed. What the devil meant to destroy...God meant to turn it around for good!
I praise God that, eventhough most of the time I do not understand what He is doing in situations, but He does. He has a plan and purpose and all we have to do is say "yes" to Him and He will make something beautiful out of our mess.
And He will do the same thing for you! He has a "forever family" waiting for you. He's already been to court, signed the papers, endured the trial and finally died for you. But the greatest thing is that He rose again so that you and I could be adopted as His kids. He loves you and He has a wonderful future waiting around the corner for you!
