As I was driving the kids to school this morning, this scripture came to my mind. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life." Wow...what a verse. My oldest daughter, Kaylee, was the first one to say it out loud. I told them that this was probably the most important verse in all of scripture, that it is the basis for what we believe about Christ. God is our Father. A father's love is something that I understand now, because I am a dad. It is difficult to put into words what a father thinks about his kids and hopes for his kids. But more than any thoughts and feelings...a father who loves his children is willing to do anything for them...even give his life for them. There is not anything that I would not do for my kids, to insure their health, safety, and success in life. Thats what our Heavenly Father did for us. He loved you and me so much that He gave His most precious gift...His son Jesus, to die on the cross for us. So that we could be healthy spiritually, successful in this life and in the life to come, and that we could live with Him for all eternity. There are so many of you out there, that have never accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life. You have been living for yourself all these years. But this life is not about you! Its not about what you can have, a house, a car, money...you will not take a penny of it with you when you breathe your last breath. When we stand before God, He will acknowledge one thing or the other...He will either know you or not. Will He know you? And do you know Him? I invite you today to accept Him into your heart. Ask Him to come in right now...you won't regret it. Start living for Him and stop living for yourself. Facing Forward! Stan |
